Hi, I’m Rose, a being with an urgent imagination. I craft creative non-fiction for fun, but I keep myself busy with a range of writing. I’m easily, and happily, distracted by the pages of a good book. I aspire to mirror the prose of Atwood, Orwell, Sedaris, Bradbury and Murakami one day. Convinced that good storytelling comes from experience, I sold everything in 2016 and left the USA to live abroad. After 32 countries I’ve found a home base in Da Nang, Vietnam.

I’m an experienced journalist in areas of music, community, and travel and a chameleon in areas of technical and academic writing. With a passion for sharing, I established and continue to lead creative writing workshops in Vietnam that chisel at the idea that writing has to be academic and therefore boring. Wrong--writing with weird and experimental prompts has enabled dozens of writers over the past two years of the Workshop, and even converted a few non-believers in the power of writing. 

I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in English and Creative Writing and hope to attend graduate school in 2020.
